Creative Power: The R&D Behind the No-Cotton Pod

The R&D team

Dorteam has gathered highly qualified and experienced R&D and management talent, with an engineering core that has served in the electronic cigarette industry for more than 13 years. They know the structure of these devices intimately and control the development process from specification to production hand-off.

The problem worth solving

Two complaints have chased pod devices since the category existed: oil leakage and flavor that drifts over the life of the tank. Both trace back to the same component — the storage cotton. Liquid sits in the wick for weeks before use, slowly interacting with it; the wick channel is the path leaks follow; and when the device runs "dry," a measurable share of the liquid is still trapped in the fibers.

The answer CigGo shipped

To fundamentally solve the leakage problem and keep the pure taste of the e-liquid, the CigGo R&D team developed a new generation of disposable pod designs:

  • No storage cotton — liquid is held in the tank itself and fed directly to the coil, so nothing soaks, nothing weeps, and 100% of the liquid is actually vaped.
  • Liquid flow control — metered delivery from tank to coil keeps the heating element supplied without a wick's delay or leftovers.

That engineering line reached production in the LockTank and OhmBar device generations — the no-storage-cotton pod with a two-year shelf-life rating, and the tank-held-liquid architecture with a visible liquid window. Both informed the platforms in today's product range.

What it means for OEM buyers

A platform decision like no-storage-cotton is not cosmetic — it changes the failure modes your customers experience (leakage tickets, "it tastes different" complaints) and the shelf-life story you can print on your packaging. When you bring a project, the R&D team's platform options come with the reasoning attached. Start a conversation.
